Artists using copying as their process is rather a different event from copying in design. Artists in a sense are making unique objects -- even when their work is mechanical and/or in multiples. By copying (each other, consumer goods, famous works) they call into question the nature of authenticity, individuality, consumerism... But there are overlaps and its worth looking at different ways people have addressed this idea of the copy. Above, Eden is looking at a sculpture by Robert Gober at the Prada Foundation in 2015. Since then, she has gotten bigger, the sculpture not so much.
