another design blog that i look at frequently is designspiration. like pinterest, users post images of visual inspiration to the site that you can then scroll though passively or search using key words. clicking on a thumbnail, will show the image larger with a new series of related thumbnails below, allowing for hours of infinite browsing. its simultaneously handy and horrifying -- seeing all this work summed up as funky, expressive, pink, or blue...
i rendered all of these screen shots with auto trace, further distancing and fragmenting the images. if there are algorithms out there tracking trends, there likely are computer programs being written to design. with every posting and like we provide information that could eventually replace us designers.
