copy of a book cover for New Directions: New Classics, 1947. there is something i really love about this era of book covers. of course when thinking about copying, Alvin Lustig is clearly influenced by artists of his day -- looking at the shapes in these two covers, Joan Miró and Henry Moore come to mind.
